Notice I never use the word ‘problem’. It is never a problem. It is just an issue you need to overcome.

When your business is in distress and you find yourself uttering the words “My business needs help.“ It is vital to take action and seek assistance as soon as you realise there are issues.
Do not procrastinate.
The first step is a mindset shift—one that embraces the idea of reaching out for support.
Understand that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a courageous act of recognizing your limitations and the need for guidance.
This, in many cases, is a 'growing pain dilemma'. I always say in business, “There is a thin line between growth and bankruptcy”
Reaching out for help opens doors to potential solutions and paves the way for positive change.

I have found constantly it is never as bad as you perceive it.
This is why it is so imperative to have someone look at the entire business with fresh eyes.
Someone not involved in your business. I do not care what business you have started. Business is business.

Delaying action will lead to further deterioration of your business and your well-being and quite often increases the risk of bankruptcy.
Time is of the essence, and the sooner you seek help, the better the chances of turning the situation around.

Revisit all the reasons you started the business in the first place.
What has changed?
There you go. There is a starting point for you. If you can’t get a clear answer to this question, then the best option may be to get out now. Salvage what you can and move on.
To inspire and motivate you, let me give you a couple of similar cases to ponder.
Here are two real-life examples of businesses that were on the verge of giving up before finding an experienced mentor and turning the businesses around.
Many years ago, Alan Jones owned a retail store that was struggling due to increased competition from online retailers, declining foot traffic, rising wholesale prices, a decrease in margins and poor sales staff.
Frustrated and overwhelmed, he almost closed his doors. However, he reached out to me through a referral from an existing client.
In a nutshell, I helped AJ analyze his market position. I redefine his target audience. I develop an effective digital marketing strategy with his knowledge of his business. Together, we edited his business plan re-vamped some goals and made them realistic and short. This way he could tick them off when completed, giving a powerful sense of achievement and a great feeling of moving forward. In essence, on my part, it was not all that hard. The thing was AJ could not see the forest for the trees. Really, it was a few adjustments made through fresh eyes. Most of the time, it is.
With my experience and support, AJ’s business achieved a new lease on life. Sales increased. Customers returned. The ‘total experience’ of shopping at his store became the business mantra.
The upshot of this was a few years later AJ sold the business. He was made an offer he couldn’t refuse. A fantastic result. The thing is, his issues were not all that catastrophic. In his mind, they were insurmountable. A beautiful example of reaching out and saying, “My business needs help”.
